The parents are the tutors, we build our own computers, we never go to Hooters, a home school family.

There’s recess in the foyer, and than we read Tom Sawyer, our nine year old’s a lawyer, a home school family.

We never leave our dwelling, our children are excelling, they’re champions at spelling, a home school family!

This is a great treat to have when its cold and dreary outside!

Ingredients:

Hot Chocolate pack

Marshmallows

Cinnamon or Cinnamon sticks

Hot water

A favorite mug

Whipped topping or ice cream

Cherries

Love

Directions:

Heat up the water until it’s just the right temperature. Pour the hot water into the mug and dump the package of hot coco in. Stir with a cinnamon stick or a spoon. Add marshmallows and a dash of cinnamon. Take a scoop of your favorite ice cream or whipped topping and add the cherry on the top.

Enjoy family time with this fun and yummy recipe!

Tip: you can even add a small chocolate bar to make it more chocolaty

When the heroes were safe at HQ, They took care of the injuries. In a few day, the legion was well rested and ready for action. Star was sitting down on a couch, reading a book about villains, The Twins were trying to get into a cookie jar by standing on top of each other, Zinx was typing a computer code into his computer, Warrior and Phantom Girl went to go practice their fighting skills, Blueberry munched on some tarts, Talana turned into a bird and was preening her feathers, Myru (Myrum) was taking a nap in the sun, and Ruby, Blacklight, Frost and Flaze were just chit-chatting. Suddenly, Ruby paused in talking.

Does anyone know where Comet Boy is?

Everyone in the room stopped what they were doing. They all shook their heads, they had no idea where he was. Ruby got up from her beanbag and stepped outside. It was an unusally quiet day. No birds were singing and even the streets were quiet. Ruby shivered. It’s way too quiet! She thought. Suddenly, Ruby heard a swooping noise. She looked up. It was Comet Boy!! He landed and looked flushed. What’s wrong Comet Boy? Ruby asked. And where were you?

Comet Boy seemed out of breath. I was at the police HQ, Some terrible news! Trask and Steel Man have escaped prison!! Ruby gasped. Comet Boy flew inside quickly to tell the others. Ruby hurried in after him. Comet Boy had just finished telling Zinx. Zinx looked at the others. Prepare yourselves, they could head here next. All I hope is that they don’t destroy the city.

Star: A girl from Myton who never expected to be asked to join the legion!

Blueberry: Star’s best bud. She still doesn’t know what her real power is.

Warrior: An Guardian Angel with a strange temper.

Zinx: A highly intelligent robot that has lived in Optonium most of his life.

Comet Boy: The last person of his kind.

Talana: She shape-shifts into animals and plants.

The Twins: Two lovable twins who can never seem to stop fighting. They have no known power right now.

Blacklight: A shy black cat who was morphed into a cat during an thunderstorm.

Frost: From the chilly Nyistal mountain, this girl and her people dwell. Frost has adapted to the freezing temperatures.

Ruby: A small girl who loves the color Ruby Red. Commander Maxwell is her guardian.

Flaze: Totally fire powered, She can survive in temperatures up to 600* Fahrenheit.

Myrum: Her name is pronounced Myru, but she likes it spelled Myrum. She is a quiet girl with large wisdom.

Phantom Girl: She comes from a ghostly planet called Phansom.

Spinx: The old leader of the legion. A girl that’s a little hard to understand.

Villains

Steel Man: He and Thunder Man are brothers. His main issue is Star.

Thunder Man: He is a little bit older than his brother. His main issue is Blueberry.

Blizzard: Her mood can become very sour a lot of times. Her main issue is Warrior.

Vortex: He sometimes misuses his powers for fun. His main issue is Comet Boy.

Shadow: A almost true living shadow, this girl’s weakness is super bright light. Her main issue is Talana.

Earth Illusion: Thunder Man and Steel Man’s sister. This girl just relaxes and never takes anything seriously…Except her hair appointments. Her main issue is, well, she doesn’t have one. Yet.

Trask: Tainto’s long lost son. Accidentally morphed into a half scaly black snake half human. His main issue is definitely Star.

Tainto: An enemy of old. He disappeared in a meteor shower.

Hunter: A bounty hunter searching for Comet Boy.

Trask’s tongue flickered back and forth. You’re right Ssstar. He hissed. I am Tainto’s ssson. His scaly face crooked into a smile. Ssstar, I have returned to Myton to carry out my father’sss dream. I will desstroy Myton if it’ss the lasst thing I do! Thunder flashed behind him. Trask turned around quickly. A galactic ssstorm iss approaching! He hissed angrily. He turned to the fallen legion and his robots. We’ve done our damage here! He yelled over the bellowing winds. Retreat! The robots quickly followed after their leader. The robot that was holding Star turned and dropped her into a huge cave in the ground.

Star watched helplessly at the escaping villains. She grabbed onto the side of the wall and started climbing. Her body hurt to much to fly. Just as she climbed out of the cavern, Star saw a familiar ship approaching. She quickly hurried after Trask and his robots. Suddenly, she heard a male voice.

Don’t worry Star. We got them. The voice said. Star looked up into the smiling faces of the Twins. Don’t worry Star. They said again. The rest of the legionnaire are here. Star looked up and spotted Frost, Flaze, Blacklight and Comet Boy. They all smiled at each other for a second. Than Twin #1 said, Hey! There goes Trask! Come on ! Come on! Let’s go get him! He took off running. Hey!! Twin #2 yelled after his brother. Wait for us!! He also took off running. Comet Boy shrugged and waved for the legionnaire to follow him.

When Trask saw them, he hissed with rage. Not fair! Not fair! The twins landed in front of him. Yes fair! They said together. Trask was quickly over come. Meanwhile, Star hurried back to the others, who were just getting up. They groaned. Man….Blueberry said. Those guys were tough! Star quickly helped them all up. A few of the legionaries were injured badly. (The battle was worse than I wrote it) Soon, Comet boy came with the rest of the legion. Trask had been handed over to the police and imported safely to his prison. As the healthy part of the legion helped the injured ones on board, Star spotted her father running towards her.

He grasped her in his arms. Star, he mumbled. I was afraid I’d lose you! Are you all right? Star looked up into her father’s eyes. I’m fine. She turned around and saw The Twins wave to her. She turned back to her father. I must go. I’ll be back soon to help with the clean up. But right now, I have to help my injured friends. They hugged one last time and Star took off. Soon the legion was heading back to Optonium.

After a quick talk, the legion and Star’s father made a plan. Costar (Star’s Father) decided that he would help evacuate the city while the legion held off Trask and his robots for as long as possible. He explained that some of the other people on Myton where also helping with the evacuation. He also told them that Tainto had died in a meteor shower a few months ago.

Star quickly followed the departing legion. She fingered the pink cape that Blueberry had given to her for her birthday. She had added glitter to it so when Star flew, it would shimmer behind her. Oh wait, I’m getting off the subject. As they all flew out, Star turned back to look at her father. He waved to her and quickly departed out another door. When the main building’s doors flew open, the legion was met with the smiling face of Trask and 10 of his robots. His black tongue flickered in and out as if sampling something. Well, what have we here? Ssstar and the legionairssss? He turned to his robots and barked (Not like a dog) Well? What are you waiting for you sssimpletonsss?!? Desstroy the legion!!!

The robots attacked the legion at lightning speed. Oh, this will be a piece of cake! Talana grinned. Suddenly, the robots pulled out shocker rods. Talana groaned. As the legion attacked, whirlwinds started blowing in from the north. Comet Boy emitted a screech towards one of the robots. It shook it’s head in confusion, that regained itself and brought the rod down hard on CB’s head. Comet Boy moaned and went down. Talana circled a robot and transformed into a snarling jaguar. She leaped at it with her sharp claws. The robot raised its rod and Talana smacked right into it. With a howl of pain, she felt back to the ground, smoking. The rest of the legionnaire were quickly brought to the ground.

Star was outnumbered now. She had her robot to take care of, and now she had to deal with all the others too! Only a few were lying disabled on the ground. Before long, Star was held by three of the robots. Trask chuckled a evil chuckle. My worthless friend, you don’t know me well, but I know you. Star quit struggling and stared at Trask. Trask clasped his black arms behind his back. You sssee, After you left Myton, a few months later, Tainto wass killed in the meteor ssshower. But no one knew he had a ssson.Trask paused and let his words sink in. Star just stared at him. He had a son?

Trask hissed and continued. Hiss sson to rule Myton after he dissssappeared. But the ssson had different plansss. He wasss alwaysss fasssinated by sssnakesss. Sso one day he decided to turn himssself into a lifes ssize ssnake. But ssomething went wrong. In the tesssting, a bolt of lightning sshocked the DNA changer. The sson was in the machine than tessting the experiment. The sshock caused a mental flaw in the program. Sso when the transssformation wass compete, the sson wass sshocked! He looked like a human with ssscaley black armss and a black cobra’ss head combined! Trask stopped and grinned a snaky smile at Star. The sson than later decided to be a sssupervillian. He came back to Myton to rule.

Star felt like a lightning bolt had hit her. She realized who Trask was now! She opened her mouth.

IT’S FALL!

We all love this time of year when we have a huge feast and stuff ourselves full of goodies. But you know, there are families all over the world who have never had a feast like that, they barely have anything to eat, and, sometimes, nothing at all!

Communities around the world are getting involved with Samaritan’s Purse. An organization that sends shoe boxes full of candy, toys and hygiene for the kids and parents who have nothing. The project is called, Operation Christmas Child. Every year 10s of thousands of kids and parents are fed because of love and generosity. Families all over the world take money out of Christmas presents and savings to donate a shoe box to fill with goodies and important stuff for the hurting families in places like Siberia, Iraq, and Liberia.

As they boarded the legion’s ship, Star trembled. Would her parents recognize her? Would they still be around? Questions buzzed into her head. As she strapped herself in, she thought this birthday couldn’t get any better. Star grabbed her space suit and put it on. Blueberry held her shoulder. Star, don’t get so jumpy!

Star twinged. She was impatient. Suddenly, A beeping red light covered the ship. Zinx quickly pushed a button and a map of the universe popped up. A red light was beeping on one of the planets. Zinx looked pale in spite of his robotic body. What’s wrong? Warrior leaned on the dashboard and stared at the screen. A look of horror crossed his face. Oh,no. he whispered. Star looked at his face. What’s wrong? Zinx turned to her. It’s a distress signal.

Star looked at him with a blank look. Is that the problem? Zinx shook his head. It’s the location of the distress signal. Star felt stricken for a moment, than asked slowly, which planet? Warrior turned to her and Star wasn’t prepared for what he said next. It’s coming from.. He gulped.

Myton..

That word hung in the air for a minute. Star felt the air rush out of her lungs. M-Myton? She covered her mouth. Zinx nodded sadly. Blueberry turned to Star. Well Leader? What now? Star’s eyes flashed. We go help them. she said with determination. Zinx grabbed the controls. Strap yourselves in. We have a planet to save! Zinx locked the ship in hyper speed. The ship took off like a bullet. Within seconds, they had reached Myton. Robots were guarding the planet from all directions. They shot a warning shot at the legion. Zinx stopped the ship. Warrior ran his fingers through his hair and blew out his breath. What now? They won’t let us land! Star opened the door and flew out of the ship.

The legion saw Star talk to the guard and a red light came on. He opened a force field and let the legion in. No sooner than they got inside, Zinx called Star through her communicator. Star! Trask is coming. He must have launched an attack!! Star looked up and saw Trask and heavily equipped robots heading for her planet. She waved for the legion to follow her. She headed for the main building. The distress beacon was standing on the building. Zinx brought the ship to a halt and the legion flew out the door. They joined Star. They all walked into the main building and saw a elderly man waiting for them. As soon as he set eyes on Star, he collapsed. S-star honey? Star reconized his voice and gave a cry. Father?! She cried. Star ran into the arms of her father. They hugged for a minute. Than her father let go of her. Suddenly, the building shook. All looked up. Star’s father ran to the door. He flung it open and saw the force field had failed. Trask and his Robots were attacking everything. Star’s father turned to the legion. Introductions later. War is upon us.

Star locked herself in her room for the rest of the day. Everyone took turns trying to get her to come out, but it was all in vain. Star covered her ears and thought hard about who Trask was and why she recognized him. No thoughts came to her mind. Star refused to eat or drink and never moved from her position. Her thoughts turned to the day of the week. Today was her birthday. No one knew, but she remembered. A tear slid down her cheek as she remembered all the fun birthdays with her family. Now she was turning 16 and she was alone.

Suddenly, Star heard a small knock on the door. She knew right away it was little Ruby. Go away! she snapped. Ruby open the door slowly and made sure Star wouldn’t throw a lemon pie in her face. Star, she said slowly, we need to talk. Star covered herself. Go away! she yelled. I don’t want to talk. Ruby hugged Star. You remind me of my big sister, Star. Ruby said softly. What happened to your sister? Star asked.

“She died in a big fire. Along with my mother and father and cat.”

Oh Ruby! Star exclaimed. I’m so sorry. Ruby smiled. Thanks Star, will you come out with me? The others want to see you. Star hesitated, than her stomach growled. She laughed. Sure Ruby I’m hungry. They flew out together and came into the main room. Zinx was reading computer code and didn’t notice them. Beside him, the room was empty. Star shook her head. That Zinx, reads all the computer stuff he can get his hands on. We’re spoiled in this 32′th century! Ruby laughed and nodded. Yes we are. We’re also lucky! Technology has improved so much since the 10′th century! Suddenly, Zinx flew between them. Sorry to break up you chit-chat, but Star, there’s something that I need to show you. Star followed close behind Zinx and Ruby. They led her to the meeting room. They went in and Star followed. It was dark in the room.

All of a sudden, the light flew on and Star was met with the entire legion yelling, Surprise!! in her face. The room was decorated with banners and ribbons. A big birthday cake was in the center of the table. It said on it, Happy 16′th birthday Star!! Star covered her mouth and started crying tears of joy. Blueberry hugged her. Happy birthday Star!! She cried. Star saw a pale-faced girl who had ice blue hair and clothing. Zinx caught her staring. Star, this is Frost. She’s another one of the legion that hasn’t been here in 2 years. She came along with the rest of the legion to wish you a happy first year in the legion and a happy birthday.

Another door suddenly burst open and more heroes came flying through the door. They all introduced themselves to Star. A girl who’d hair was as red and hot as a fire and her clothing was all red, along with her eyes and lips, said her name was Flaze. There were two boy twins who looked just like each other. The legion could never figure out who was who, so the boys called themselves the Twins. The next hero was a girl who was actually a cat. She was black with sapphire eyes with a diamond on her forehead. She stood upon two legs and came level with Star. She quietly said her name was Blacklight. Zinx quickly interrupted. Star, we have another surprise for you.

We want to visit your planet. Is that all right? Star nodded numbly and smiled broadly. Let’s go! Far away, Trask watched the legion get ready to go. He hissed. Ssssstar will be suprised at the suprise I have for her. Muahahahahaha!!!!!!

What do you mean we should let her stay?!? Warrior banged his fist on the table. The only reason you care about this, this, child is because she’s alone, Star!!! Star bit her lip. I know Warrior. She said softly. But she reminds me so much of my best friend who lived on Myton. Blueberry hugged Star to keep her from crying. Shh… Blueberry whispered. Let’s let Ruby have a chance. Zinx said to Warrior. Warrior looked as if he was going to blow his lid. Myrum, who was clutching her side, spoke up. Let her try. I was right before about Star wasn’t I? All heads at the meeting table nodded. Warrior stood up and leaned on the table. If we’re going to bring someone new in, let’s ask the leader! But Sphinx is on a trip right now! Talana yelled. Warrior leaned in her face. Who asked you where Sphinx was?! Phantom Girl whacked Warrior in the face. Stop your temper! She yelled. Why you little- Warrior started.

Suddenly, Comet Boy came flying in the room. Sorry to interrupt the meeting, but Sphinx is on the communicator! Everyone in the room gasped. They all went out of the room and stood in front of the monitor. Sphinx was standing in a dark forest and she spoke. Legion, I have some grave news. We have a new villain to worry about. His name is Trask. A picture flashed up on the screen. Everyone gasped. He looked like a huge black cobra snake with huge fangs and black scaly arms. On his arm, Star noticed something familiar. He wore a golden band with a X symbol on it. Sphinx came back on the screen. Be on the look out. Warrior threw a question at Sphinx before she could continue. We have a girl here named Ruby. Commander Maxwell dropped her off. Everyone thinks she should be part of the team. What do you think?

Ruby pushed her way in front of him. Hi Sphinx! She said. Well hello Ruby. How’s Commander Maxwell doing? Fine, thank you. Ruby said, smiling. You may join the team if you wish Ruby. Sphinx continued. The Legion could always use extra help! She turned to the legion. Make a legionary vote on who should be the new leader. I know your choice will be good. That is all, farewell. Warrior sputtered and spat. Star hugged Ruby and smiled. You’ll be a good addition to help. Now, we must have a legionary vote on who the new leader should be. After all the legion people had been called and put on line, they all cast a vote. After the votes had been tallied by the computer, Warrior read the vote. The new leader is, Star!?!

Star gasped. A-are you serious? I-I’m the new leader? Blueberry and Myrum hugged Star. You sure are! Yippee!! Everyone clapped and Star, still looking dazed, held up her hand. The noise quieted down and Star spoke. I hope I make the right decisions and lead you all down the right path. Everyone clapped again. Warrior was still sputtering. Phantom Girl slapped him on the back and laughed. Get used to it. Warrior looked angry, than laughed. OK, OK, I’ll try not to be so self-centered now. Everyone clapped and laughed. Star, as she walked out, wondered something. Why did the band the Trask was wearing looked familiar and why he was wearing it?

Ray Deactivated, a voice rang out. Star wiped her head and let her breath out slowly. NOOO!!! Steel Man bellowed. That Wasn’t Suppose To Happen!! Blueberry smirked. Warrior grabbed a rope and wound it around The Dark Matrix. Blueberry and Comet Boy picked them up and flew back to the city.

Star collapsed and hit her head on the ray. Warrior quickly flew over to Star and grabbed her. Star had blacked out. Warrior turned to the rest of the legion and yelled to them, Come on! Let’s get back to the base! They all nodded and Talana grabbed the ray. When the arrived back at HQ, The police had arrived. The commander was talking to Blueberry and Zinx. Someone was hiding behind him.

…Thank you Commander Maxwell. Blueberry was saying. He nodded and asked her a question that none of the other legion heard. Blueberry looked hesitant and finally nodded. Someone emerged from behind Maxwell and waved a small wave. Blueberry waved back. Commander Maxwell got in his police car. Farewell Legion! He shouted out the window. Just give me a buzz if any villains get loose again! Blueberry waved and shouted back, Don’t worry commander! We will! And take care of her! He also yelled. Blueberry just waved.

Star woke up and nearly fell out of Warrior’s arms. Blueberry walked over with Zinx and the girl. Hello everyone. Zinx said. Zinx took the ray from Talana and sighed. It’s safe. Is Myrum OK, Zinx? Star asked in a small voice. He looked at her. Yes, I scanned her. She’ll be fine. He flew to his laboratory to put the ray away. Star got out of Warrior’s arms and stood on the ground. Suddenly, Warrior noticed the girl. The girl was about the same age as Star. Her raven black hair which was shoulder length, Covered one of her ruby eyes.

Everyone stared at Blueberry. Oh, Blueberry laughed. This is Ruby. Commander Maxwell want us to watch over her. She’s part of the legion now. WHAT???? Everyone yelled. Warrior dove at Blueberry ready to tackle her. Suddenly, he bounced off of something when he was 3 inches from Blueberry. He flew to the other side of the room and crashed into the wall. Star looked at Ruby. She was somehow guarding Blueberry.

The outline of her hand was purple and her eyes had completely turned purple. Star suddenly realized that Ruby was using a force field! Warrior rubbed his sore jaw and mumbled. Star took a breath and said to all of them, We’ll vote on whether Ruby stays or goes.

Terry ended up winning!!

Star quickly led the other heroes up some rickety stairs. As they flew up, Star noticed that there was a lot of water forming on the steps. Hmm. She wondered. How is that water getting in? Where does it come from? The higher they flew, the more dense the air became. And the denser the air became, the slower the legion flew. This Air is getting very dense. Blueberry panted. Suddenly, they were out of the creepy cave and into a pouring rain. Warrior suddenly cried out to Star, Steel Man! There he is! Star scanned the area and spotted him setting up the ray to a large satellite. Steel Man! Blueberry yelled.

Steel Man turned around and saw the legion standing in the pouring rain, watching him. Hehehe. He laughed. Blizzard! Vortex! Earth Illusion! Shadow! Thunder Man! We have some “Kids” who want to play with us! All of the Dark Matrix appeared beside Steel Man. Earth Illusion sat on a large vine, working on her nails. She mumbled to Steel Man, S.M. Be careful about that Star. She packs a wallop! Steel Man swung his hand at Earth Illusion’s vine and bellowed at her, STOP CALLING ME S.M.!! Earth Illusion, not anticipating this move, tumbled onto the ground. Hey! She shouted. Not very polite to throw a girl off her seat you know! Thunder Man stood between them. Yo! Bro. Sis! Get along. We have to destroy the legion before they get to the ray!!! Steel Man and Earth Illusion stopped fighting and regained position. The battle had begun.

Blueberry took on Blizzard and blew her away with her Chill Wind breath. Warrior took on Thunder Man and made him trip over himself. Vortex was taken on by Comet Boy. Comet boy was taken down by an electric shock from Thunder Man when he wasn’t looking. Talana took on Shadow. Ha! Silly little girl! You’re a hero and yet you don’t have a hero name! Shadow laughed. Yes I do! Talana yelled back. Oh really? Shadow said sarcastically. Yes, if fact I do, Shadow. Talana said. She suddenly became smaller and more vicious. Shadow screamed. Talana had turned into a Jaguar! TALANA IS MY HERO NAME! Talana snarled. Shadow was thrown to a wall.

Star battled against Steel Man. Star’s hair lay flat on her head as she battled. Steel Man moved a different direction and Star tripped. Landing on the ground, Steel Man loomed above her. HAHAHAHA! He laughed. No one can stop me now! Suddenly, Star’s blue neckless started glowing. A bright light shot from it and The Dark Matrix was blown away. The neckless stopped glowing. Star suddenly remembered the ray. She turned to it and heard a voice. It was Steel Man. You’re too late! The time has 14 more seconds on it and soon the entire planet will be consumed in darkness! Star quickly flew over to the timer. 10….9….8 Star pushed all the buttons in some order. 7…6…5…4…3 She pushed one last button and held her breath. The entire legion and Dark Matrix froze. 2…1!!

Blizzard girl looked up at the noise. Thunder! She moaned. I HATE thunder! It means rain! And rain ruins my hair! Earth Illusion looked at Blizzard girl. (Let’s call her Blizzard) Ugh, Blizzard, You got some talent for complaining! She said.

Blizzard looked angry for a moment. She flew out of the room in a hurry. Thanks a lot! She spat at Earth Illusion. Steel man also heard the noise and turned around to look at Earth Illusion and Shadow Girl. (Who we should call Shadow) Keep an eye on the Legion. I have to set the ray up. He barked at them. Earth Illusion was busy working on her nails.

Uh-Huh. Don’t worry S.M. We’ll keep an eye on them. Steel man looked at Earth Illusion and left the room mumbling, I wish she wouldn’t call me S.M! After he left, Shadow and Earth Illusion sat down and chilled. Star stared out of the cage door at Myrum. She looked like she was in a lot of pain. Someone tapped her shoulder. Star looked behind her and saw Zinx looking into her eyes. Have you found a way to get out, Zinx? She asked.

He shook his head. Nothing! The bars are made out of a atomic shield and No one can use their powers in here. Star turned back to Myrum who was struggling to get out of the vine still holding her. No one in here can, Star said slowly. But Myrum can! Blueberry raised her head and looked at Star. Myrum doesn’t own any usable powers!

Star closed her eyes and made contact with Myrum. It’s worth a try Blueberry. Myrum! It’s Star! Can you try to find a switch to turn the bars off? Myrum looked around the room and saw a large switch. Yes, Star. I-Ow! I see one. OW! Earth Illusion’s vine is pulling too tight. I have to hurry. Star looked through the bars worriedly. Myrum used Psychic to push the bar down. The bars fluttered off.

Before Shadow and Earth Illusion could move, The legion had attacked them. Soon The two evil girls sat on the floor, tied up. Suddenly, Star remembered Myrum. She looked wildly around and saw her still in the vine. Star used a power blast which blew the vine apart. Star ran over to Myrum. Her eyes were closed. Zinx quickly picked her up and turned to Star. I’m taking her back to HQ. She’s alive, but barely. Go deactivate the ray that Steel man is setting up. Star looked into his eyes and sighed. OK, Zinx. Good luck. Zinx nodded and flew out of the cave. Star turned to the Legion and yelled. Let’s go!

Zinx nearly knocked Star over. He gripped her shoulders and yelled at her, Are you insane!?! The Subatomic Partical Ray is a deadly weapon!! If the Dark Matrix get it, they’ll be able to destroy all of us!!

Star pushed Zinx away with her force field and stared at him. In a hurting controlled voice, she spat out, I…Know…The..Risks! But our friends are in there! Trapped! Zinx stood back and stared hard into Stars face. He didn’t see one glimpse of letting up. Zinx sighed. OK. I’ll get the Partial ray. He retreated to his lab to get it from a highly secure secret place. Star thought for a moment, than said quickly to Zinx, Wait, I have an idea! Make a fake copy and keep the real one here.

Zinx eyes became wide. Good idea, Star! I’ll get it ready immediately! He flew into his lab, leaving Myrum and Star behind. They peeked around the corner and saw Zinx hard at work. The fake Subatomic ray looked almost as real as the real one! Star smiled. This would be a perfect plan! It was almost 3 hours later, that they arrived at the cave on the south side of the canyon with the Subatomic Ray.

Steel Man was waiting for them there. He grinned and held out his big steel hand. Zinx pulled the ray out of a case and handed it to him. Steel Man smiled an evil smile and said in a deep voice, Come with me, into the cave. Star and Zinx looked at each other and shrugged.

They followed him into the cave and saw the rest of the legion behind the bars. Steel Man opened the door and Star and Zinx stepped inside to help their friends out. As soon as they stepped inside however, Steel Man slammed the door and locked them inside too. Myrum started to attack but was wrapped in a large vine. Earth Illusion had trapped Myrum so she was useless to help. Star fumed and exploded at Steel Man, What about our bargain? We got you the ray! You promised our friends! Steel man smiled and spat at Star, I crossed my fingers. Now I have the entire legion and no one can stop me now!!! Thunder clashed in the distance.

Kid Appropriate

That thing’s a monster.

Star awoke with a pain in her head and shivered. Painfully, she slowly stood up and looked around her. Rubble and debris littered the dark, cold and misty area. Suddenly, Star remembered her friends! Wildly, She looked all around the area, calling out their names and even searching the area in the air. But no one answered. It was completely silent save Star’s voice echoing off of the mountains. Star gave up and slowly floated to HQ. Maybe they forgot about me and they went back to HQ! Star thought.

But when she drifted in the door, no one was stirring. Star saw Myrum and Zinx in the corner sleeping. Star gently shook Myrum and Myrum opened her eyes. Wha? She said groggily. Who’s there? Has something happened? Yes, have you seen the others? Star asked. Myrum shook her head. I thought they were with you! Star’s eyes got bigger and she said in a hushed voice. We better call them. Zinx yawned and stretched and asked what was going on. Star repeated her story of what happened. I bet the Dark Matrix took them, Zinx interrupted.

At that moment, they got an call. Star turned the screen on and almost screamed. Steel Man was calling from his secret laboratory. Well, well, well. What do we have here? He said in his deep voice. Star exploded and nearly screamed at Steel Man, What have you done with my friends?!

Steel Man laughed a victorious laugh, (Which did not sound good to Star.) and stood back. Star gasped when she saw her friends behind glowing bars. Blueberry said in a weak voice. Help us Star…..Our..Powers..Are being …drained. Star broke down and bowed her head. What do you want me to do? she asked Steel Man quietly. Steel Man smiled a evil smile than said to her. Bring the Subatomic Partial Ray to the cave near the south side of the canyon. He pointed to Myrum and Zinx.

Bring them with you. He ended the call. Star stood tall. You heard the man, Star turned to Zinx. The ray’s in your laboratory. Get it. We have some friends to save.

As Star sat in the weapon room waiting for the others, her mind drifted to what the battle would be like. What would happen? Would she and her new friends survive? Or would they be squished like bugs? What was steel man and thunder man like? Star’s thoughts were interrupted when Zinx floated quickly into the room. I have some bad news guys, he said as he landed on the floor. Warrior looked at Zinx and yelled, Zinx! What in the legion happened to you? Star took a look at Zinx and was horrified.

He was covered in dirt from head to toe. Scratches covered him and he looked worn out. I was spying on the area to watch for Thunder Man and Steel Man. I had just rounded the corner and whammed right into Blizzard Girl! Zinx started. Blizzard Girl? Star thought. She sounds bad.

It turned out, Zinx continued, She had come with Steel Man and Thunder Man. In fact, Zinx dropped his voice down to a whisper. The entire group of the Dark Matrix was there. Everyone in the room gasped. No! Blueberry’s eyes turned into dots. We can’t go against them! They’ll wipe us out! We have no choice. Zinx said. We…we..have to. He said no more and fainted right on the floor. He must have gone against them to try and hold them off. Star said quietly. I’ll stay with Zinx. Myrum said very quietly. I have no abilities to fight with and I’m usually the venerable one. Blueberry nodded and grabbed a bow and arrows. Let’s go get them!

Star grabbed a sword with strange markings on it and placed it in her sheath. She felt happy and grown-up. Take care, Myrum said as the legion flew out the HQ door. The legion didn’t have to look for the Dark Matrix for very long. After a few miles, They met face to face. LET’S GET THEM!!! Steel Man bellowed. The battle had begun. Star found out that Blizzard girl was a strong fighter.

During her fight, she had also heard the names of a few of the Dark Matrix she didn’t know. Comet Boy was trying to destroy a person like his element. Vortex boy was throwing mini black holes all over the place which made it hard for the other part of the legion to fight. Warrior was fighting a girl named for her real self. Shadow Girl! Warrior spit out. I’m going…To…make you..ARR..wish you were..never born! He threw her at another new villain who was called Earth Illusion.

Soon the villains were so after the legion, Star slipped aside and watched the battle for a bit. Than she jumped back in throwing energy balls all over the place. She had forgotten all about her sword for the minute. The energy balls stunned the Dark Matrix for a second. Than they all raged and attacked everyone once again. Star felt a strong blow on her head and everything went black.

OK! Now that that’s out of the way, lets introduce each other. Blueberry smiled. This is Warrior, Blueberry pointed to the white-winged boy. He can be a little grumpy sometimes. But don’t let that get you down. Star nodded and Blueberry went to the next in line.

This is Myrum and as I told you before, she’s a quiet girl and she does not speak her mind very often. Blueberry moved over again and pointed to a bright-eyed girl. Talana’s my name. she shyly said.Next in line is Zinx. He’s a mechanical robot but he functions like a normal human being. Nice to meet you. Zinx smiled. He swatted his hand toward thin air.

Star didn’t see anything for a minute than a girl appeared out of nowhere. Zinx! What’s the big idea! she landed a punch on his head. I was sleeping! Zinx rubbed his head. Introductions! Does your brain spin on nothing? The girl turned pale and she disappeared. I’m embarrassed… She mumbled.

This is Phantom Girl. Zinx said shaking his head. She’s a little annoying and ruff around the edges. Suddenly, everyone heard a loud thud and Zinx sank to the ground. Oww! What was that for Phantom Girl? Anoying? Ruff? I’ll play ruff with you! She turned visible again and the two started fighting. Blueberry sighed. Those two can NEVER get along, Star. What do we do to stop them? Star asked. Nothing.. Warrior said.

Suddenly, A screech came from a boy hovering in the sky. The two stopped fighting and held their hands over their ears. Comet Boy! Zinx yelled, That almost made my circuits blow! We have to stop fighting. Comet Boy said in a quiet voice. The Steel Man is coming. And he’s bringing Thunder Man with him! We must make ourselves ready. He looked down at Star.

You can meet the rest of the legion later. We must get ready. Star nodded and Blueberry wailed. We have no chance against them! They beat us last time and the time before that! Zinx, what’s the chance we’ll win? 50 of 100 Zinx said rummaging with his systems.

Star, Blueberry whispered, you’re going to get your first battle sooner than we expected. Don’t worry, you’ll be OK. Star nodded and trembled. What was her first battle going to be like?

Star gazed in awe at the heroes waiting for them at the foot of the tower. They landed on the soft grass and took off their helmets. Star gave Blueberry a look that said, OK, now what? Blueberry caught her question and smiled. Turning away from Star, Blueberry faced the legion and spoke in a loud voice,

This is my friend Starlight. Or Star for short. I’ve want her to join the legion. What?! Star shouted. I haven’t even.. Star was silenced by a sharp look from Blueberry. I haven’t quiet told her about it yet. Blueberry continued. If you have any objections, please speak now. How do we know if she’s not evil? A white winged boy asked.

Blueberry frowned at the boy and answered to him, I have been friends with her for fourteen years and she’s been loyal to me and my family. No one spoke for a moment, Than, a purple robed girl spoke up. I think we should give her a chance. The rest of the legion looked at the girl with a startled look.

Star wondered why everyone looked surprised than whispered to Blueberry, Why does everyone look surprised? Blueberry whispered back to her, Myrum is not know to speak her mind. Star pondered on the strange name. Another hero suddenly blurted out, Yes, listen to Myrum! Let Star have a chance!

Arguments broke out and even Blueberry joined in. Star watched and her stomach growled from all the excitement. Star felt like the third wheel on a bike.

Eventually, everything calmed down and the decision was made. After whispering for a few moments, Blueberry turned to Star and reached out her hand. We voted and we decided to give you a chance. Welcome to the Legion, Star.

1 cup of all-purpose flour

A Pinch of salt

1 egg

3 tbsp. Of vegetable oil, divided

1 cup of milk

Instructions:

1. Put a shifter over a large mixing bowl. Pour in the flour and salt. Shake the shifter until all the flour has fallen through.

2. Press a whisk into the middle of the flour to make a deep hallow. Break an egg into a cup, than pour it into the hollow.

3. Add a tbsp. of oil and two tbsp. of milk. Beat the egg, oil and milk with some of the flour from around the hallow.

4. Add some more milk and beat it again. Continue to add milk and beat it until all the milk is mixed in and the batter is smooth.

5. Heat a small frying pan over a medium heat for about a minute. Don’t put anything into the pan at this point.

6. Put two tbsp. of oil into a cup. Roll up a paper towel and dip one end of into it. Wipe oil quickly over the bottom of the pan.

7. Quickly add three tbsp. of batter. Swirl it over the bottom by tipping the pan. The batter should sizzle.

8. Put the pan on the heat and cook the batter until it turns pale and is lightly cooked. Small holes will also appear on top.

9. Loosen the edge of the pancake and slide a spatula under it. Flip the pancake over and cook it for half a minute more.

10. Slide the pancakes onto a plate, than cover it with a clean towel. Make more pancakes, following the steps 6-9.

What you need:

4oz. of toffee

1/2 cup butter or margarine

2 cups marshmallows

7 cups of puffed rice

And a 11 x 7 shallow pan

1. Grease the pan with the butter on a paper towel. If you have a slab of toffee, put it in a plastic bag and break it up with a rolling pin.

2. Put the toffee and butter or margarine into a pan. Add the marshmallows. Melt them gently over a low heat, stirring all the time. Note: They will take about 15 minutes to melt.

3. When everything has melted and blended together, take the pan off the heat. Gently stir in the rice cereal.

4. Spoon the mixture into the pan and press it gently with the back of a metal spoon. Leave the mixture to set, that cut it up. Enjoy!

Episode 3

As they munched on some cherries, Blueberry’s blue hair bounced over her face. Star floated over to the window and stared into space. After a few moments, a tear slid down her cheek.

Blueberry, Do you think I’ll ever see my family again?

Blueberry twirled the hair behind her head and softly replied, Well Star, I.. I don’t know. But.. I miss our home as much as you. Blueberry broke down into tears and wept as if her heart would break.

Star dried her tears and hugged Blueberry. I’m sorry. I forgot your brother was left behind. Blueberry lifted her tear-stained face from the table and smiled at Star. Oh, I forgot, I want you to meet some people. Blueberry floated out the door and motioned for Star to follow.

Star floated after her and wondered who her friend wanted her to meet. Blueberry opened the hatch to space and handed Star a pink suit. Star slipped it on and noticed that Blueberry was wearing a similar one. The only difference was that hers was blue.

Star drifted into space and felt a pang of excitement. I’ve never done this before! She whispered. She heard Blueberry’s voice from inside her helmet. Me nether. My mom and dad were always wishing that I stayed safe so they never let me do it.

Star nodded and was suddenly happy that she was away from her family. Blueberry pointed to a tower that was in a little city. This is Opotonium. Blueberry said. Star sucked in her breath and saw five to ten heroes waiting for them at the foot of the tower. Star, This is the new legion of heroes.

Ingredients

• 1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
• 1 1/2 cups sugar
• 12 egg whites from large eggs ( enough for 1 1/2 cups)
• 1 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Angel Food Cupcake Recipe Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line cupcake pans with paper liners.

Place egg whites in a large mixing bowl and beat at high speed until egg whites are frothy, approximately 1 minute.

Add cream of tartar, salt and vanilla to egg whites. Mix at high speed until egg whites are almost stiff, approximately 4 minutes.

Add 1 cup of sugar gradually while mixing on low speed. Scrape bowl.

Mix flour and remaining 1/2 cup sugar together and spoon 1/4 of mixture over egg whites, folding gently between each addition.

Pour batter into cupcake liners until they are 2/3 full. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until tops are golden brown and cracks are very dry.

Cool cupcakes completely before removing from pan.

What you need:

Any kind of pizza, (Whatever your favorite is would do swell!)

A pizza cutter,

And a oven. (Every house should have one.)

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 450 and let the oven heat up while you prepare the pizza. Next, strip the covering off of the pizza and pop it in the oven. (If you are a child, make sure an adult is around while placing it in the oven. Or let your mom or dad do it!) Than let the pizza cook for 15-20 minutes. Or until you think it’s done. Turn off the oven and place the pizza on a plate or leave it on the rack to cool. (Pizza is best when hot.) Take the pizza cutter and cut the pizza into squares. Viola! You’re done! Note: You can also cut your pizza into any shape you like!

Episode 2
A few hours later, Star woke up and looked around. When she realised she was in a rocket instead of in her bed on her planet, she started panicking. Than she remembered what her father had said to her. It was still fresh in her head. Remember Star, we love you and will be next to you no matter what. Farewell. Star felt a yearning for her parents. She wished they had come with her.

Suddenly, she felt the ship vibrate. WARNING, Seven enemy ships approaching from outer space. The computer voice warned. Star launched herself to the control panel and strapped herself in the green flight chair. The dark ship fired. Star bounced around on the seat as the ship took a few hits. She spun the rocket around and fired at the approaching ships. A couple of the lasers glazed the dark enemy’s ships. The dark ships fired and hit the ship. A blue screen appeared in front of Star. Weapons Offline. Star blew out her breath and pushed the trigger. Nothing Happened. As lasers streaked by, the rocket took a few hits. Space warp us to Earth! Star snapped. Star avoided lasers while trying to steer the rocket. Than the ship’s voice called out, Jump Complete. Prepare for warp. A blue light covered the ship and Star held up her hands.

The light faded and Star looked out the window. Earth was below her. Star drew in her breath. Earth was one of the most beautiful things she had ever seen. A tear slid off her eyelash and hit the dashboard. She felt a wave of grief fly over her. She remembered the times she had with her family and she started crying.

All of a sudden, she heard a noise. A crashing noise. Star wiped her tears and as curiosity took over her, she headed to investigate. When Star reached the place she had heard the crash. A short blue haired girl about the same age as Star emerged from behind Star’s bed. Star started crying all over again when she saw the girl. Blueberry! she ran towards the girl who opened her arms and caught the teary eyed girl. Oh Blueberry, I was afraid I would never see someone from my planet again! What are you doing here?

Blueberry laughed in her sweet voice. I sneaked on board your rocket when your parents pushed the blue button. Star wiped her tears, pondered and asked Blueberry, Do you know why they where sending me to earth? Blueberry crossed her arms and shook her head. Tainto was going to destroy all the children. Your parents had to get you away from him. Well, while I’m here, you do you have something to eat? I’m starved!

Marian! An elderly man rushed to meet his beloved wife. Costar? Standing up and dropping her book, a beautiful lady picked up her skirts and ran to her husband. What is it dear? He hugged her as the tears fell from his face. We must send our little star to Earth. Marian gasped. To Earth? But why? Because sweetie, the guards will destroy her. Tainto has ordered that all kids to be destroyed.

He fears that the rule over the people will slip from his hands. He says that he will no longer be able to keep the people under control if we populate more and more. Marian covered her mouth with her hand. Yes, we must send our beloved. But i grieve for all those mothers and fathers that will lose their loved ones. Her husband stopped weeping and picked up his daughter who was sleeping peacefully. Most of the people will try to send their kids to earth. They fear Tainto’s rule.

Marian nodded. She picked up a couple of things for her daughter so she would remember her planet Myton. Costar placed his sleeping daughter in the rocket and her mother placed the memories in with her. Her father pushed the blue triangle button in the rocket and stepped off. Remember Star, We love you and will be next to you no mater what. Farewell. The rocket engaged and took off. Her parents stood watching from the ground. Star was on her way to earth.
